Sydney Hope Family Cottage

Sydney Hope Family Cottage is a wellbeing centre for families which combines a comprehensive range of postnatal health services for infants aged from birth to 18 months.

The services are provided by early childhood health nurses qualified in midwifery, child and family health nursing, and who are experts in lactation.

Our aim is to provide support and advice to enable families to confidently manage the many challenges of parenting.

• Bottle feeding and introducing solids
• Sleeping and settling
• Nutrition and general health screening for babies
• Toddler and sibling behaviour management
• Connecting families to services and community
• Support with postnatal depression
• Maternal health
• Parenting advice
• Understanding your baby

These services are available through home visiting or day stay on site. Nurses consult with families to determine the length of stay, which is usually between 2 and 6 hours.

The Infants' Home offers care for young children across a range of spheres to nurture their unique abilities.

Cost

Fees reflect the level of services provided and can be negotiated at the time of referral. If you are in a private health fund, you may be eligible for cover. Please check with your health fund if your policy covers this service.

Referral

Families can self refer or be referred by an early childhood health nurse, a GP or another health practitioner.
