Building Blocks is a specialist support service for young children with Autism Spectrum disorders.
The Infants’ Home offers Building Blocks in partnership with Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) – the country’s largest not-for-profit autism-specific service provider.
The Aspect program involves a 2-hour therapy session for a group of 6 children, which is run by early childhood staff. A parallel session is run for carers by a psychologist or a similar professional.
This is followed by a 30-minute informal play session for carers and children, supported by early childhood staff. This allows children and their carers to immediately implement the lessons learned from their earlier sessions.
Building Blocks is a 12-month program which is held during school terms.
ALL PLAYGROUPS ARE NUT-FREE ZONES. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN NUTS.
