Ashfield Public School playgroup

Also known as Wangal Playgroup, this is for children aged between 0-5 and their parents, grandparents or carers. It is a partnership between The Infants’ Home, Ashfield Council and Ashfield Public School.

What happens

The playgroup offers children a variety of art and craft activities, building and construction activities and dramatic play.

It also provides opportunities to learn new social and language skills as children interact with each other.

Parents and carers can play with their children in a safe and friendly environment which offers a range of activities to suit all ages and stages of development.

At the end of each session, an educator from The Infants’ Home or a volunteer parent at the playgroup reads stories, sings songs and does dance and movement games.

This type of activity teaches children new language skills and how to follow simple directions by learning the words and actions of songs.

Please feel free to bring a healthy morning tea for your child.

How to get involved

The playgroup is held each Wednesday between 9.30 am and 11.30 am in the Ashfield Public School Hall.

Entry is via the main enrance on Liverpool Road. Everyone is welcome. Just come along ready for fun!

We also ask for a gold coin donation that will contribute to purchasing toys and resources for the playgroup.

Please check the Wangal Playgroup calendar 2012 for all the dates.

ALL PLAYGROUPS ARE NUT-FREE ZONES. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN NUTS.
