Professional home visiting program

Home visits allow families to receive support in their natural environments. 

Our home visits are conducted by:

• Child and family health nurses
• Social workers
• Occupational therapist
• Educators 

Why home visits can be important

Integrating what happens in the home with what happens at any early education and care centre can be vital for a child's development.

Home visits create a bridge between a child's home and the children's programs at The Infants' Home.

Our occupational therapist and educators conduct joint visits to learn from the home environment and to offer parents strategies to support their child outside the playrooms at our centres. 

Therapists working in the SpOT Children’s Clinic at The Infants' Home also do home visits to help families develop a home routine.
