Family Day Care

Family Day Care is a licensed and accredited service that operates in a secure and stimulating home environment.

The Infants’ Home was one of the first organisations in NSW to receive a license to manage in-home childcare, which has been operating now for 35 years.

Experienced and registered early childhood educators provide education and care for young children from six weeks to 12 years in small groups - usually 4 or 5 children.

The Infants’ Home was the first non-government organisation to manage family day care in NSW.

The Infants’ Home Family Day Care services are offered in:

• Ashfield, Croydon Park, Five Dock, and surrounding inner-west suburbs
• Randwick, Bondi, Maroubra and the surrounding Eastern suburbs and South Sydney region

More than 50 Educators are registered with our service.

Children and families

Family Day Care is just like home. Children take part in planned activities such as story-telling, singing, art and craft, or play groups – providing an environment for children to build their confidence, self esteem and social skills.

Early Childhood Educators

Educators reflect the rich diversity within our community. They are experienced, registered and trained professionals who provide quality education and care that meets the individual needs of each child and family.

Each Educator in their own unique way provides a stimulating and safe environment for children.

Coordination Unit

The Infants' Home Family Day Care Coordination Unit is staffed by experienced and qualified early childhood professionals. They ensure the services offered by Educators are of high quality and provide each child with every opportunity.

The Coordination Unit will:

• Discuss the needs of the child and the family and link them with a suitable Educator
• Enrol families to access Child Care Benefits and Child Care Subsidies
• Monitor each child’s wellbeing, learning and progress
• Recruit, train, support and monitor the service provided by each Educator
• Ensure compliance with the national quality accreditation framework and all children’s services regulations

Cost of care

Educators set their own fees. The fee is based on contracted hours or days.

Child Care Benefit and Child Care Subsidies paid by the Federal Government are available to eligible families.

Please contact our Coordination Unit for all enquiries about Family Day Care. Our staff will discuss your care needs and provide you with opportunities to meet with Educators prior to enrolling.
