GoodStart 

GoodStart programs are designed for children who are experiencing challenges in their early development. 

The programs include:

• Child care and access to transport
• Special help with all areas of development
• Psychological and social support
• Parenting skills development
• Parent–child relationship development
• Coordination with other agencies
• Help with access to government-supported programs
• Transition to school

What GoodStart can achieve

GoodStart programs highlight the values of collaboration between children, families, community, staff and support services. 

The Infants’ Home can co-ordinate a GoodStart program for a child with their family and with one of our early childhood educators.

We ensure that the program meets the priority needs of each child and that there are regular reviews of their progress.

While children are usually referred to a GoodStart program, such as Steps to School or Families Together by an agency, families can also self refer their child.
