About the centre

Early childhood research provides a compelling insight into the importance of a child’s formative years – the first three years of life.

It is during this critical time that the majority of a child’s brain development occurs. Rich, positive and loving experiences in these early years are vital for children to grow into happy, secure and confident adults.

The Infants’ Home not only provides a safety net for children and families from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds; we also provide the best possible start in life for children whose parents must work and seek alternative care.

The new Early Learning and Care Centre will be a focal point for best practice and cohesive service delivery.
