History

The Infants’ Home Child and Family Services (The Infants’ Home), from its inception in 1874, has embraced innovation and diversity and has continuously developed and reshaped services to actively engage with community needs. Today over 1000 families each year in Sydney’s Inner West access health and early childhood advice and support through The Infants’ Home services, while the early intervention services reach over 400 families each year.

The Home’s evolution has been recorded from its early beginnings in the official histroy book ‘Betrayed and Forsaken’ by author Susan Lorne Johnson.
