The Infants’ Home is an integrated service. We integrate early childhood education and care, early intervention and health services for children and families.
In 2016 we provided services to over 2,600 children. One third of these services were for children and families at risk due to additional physical or emotional needs, or because they were living in vulnerable circumstances.
For over 142 years The Infants’ Home has been a dynamic and innovative organisation, championing the rights of children, women and families, protecting children at risk, and guiding families as they build their strength, skills and confidence to create a more positive future for themselves.
Our fundamental purpose is to have a positive social impact on the communities in which we operate.
We achieve this by:
Since our inception in 1874, we have supported more than 180,000 children and families to build new futures by breaking the cycle of hardship, fear or hopelessness.
We have achieved this by providing physical and emotional environments that are socially just and equitable, free of any stigma, and that value the rights of all children and families.
